How to Use Sourdough Dough Balls by Doughables
Step 1: Freezing Your Dough
As soon as your delivery arrives, place the dough in the freezer straight away to keep it fresh. If you’re planning to use it the same day, you can skip this step—but keeping it cold is key to quality.
Step 2: Thawing the Dough
Remove the dough from the freezer 24 hours before you plan to use it. Take each dough ball out of its sealed packaging and place it in your own dough tray before refrigerating. Leave it in the fridge to thaw slowly, then allow it to rest at room temperature for a further 2 to 4 hours. This gradual process helps the dough relax, making it easier to work with.
Step 3: Proving the Dough
Let the dough prove in your tray until it has roughly doubled in size. This step is essential for developing a light, airy texture and gives the dough its characteristic flavour. Patience here makes all the difference.
Step 4: Preparing to Stretch
When you’re ready to make your pizza, gently lift the dough from the tray. Take care not to knock out the air. If it sticks a little, ease it out slowly with your hands until it comes away naturally.
Now, you’re ready to stretch your dough into the perfect shape for your pizza masterpiece! Whether you’re going for a classic Margherita or a creative vegan delight, the possibilities are endless. Enjoy the process, savour the aroma, and most importantly, relish every bite of your homemade pizza!
Let your pizza journey begin, and may your creations be as delicious as they are inspiring!
